MY HERO ACADEMIA

Before it became a global phenomenon, My Hero Academia was a popular manga with big promise and bigger expectations as an anime. I was the title’s creative director for the western launch of the series, conceptualizing the color story, supporting design elements, design system and logo, in addition to art directing all creative production across video, digital and print. The series has grown to become one of the most beloved animated series of the past 10 years.

Design

A newly designed English logo anchored the series’ design in American comic book aesthetic, a major influence on the development of the title. That inspiration was embraced and evolved to create a unique mix of traditional comic aesthetic and loud color theory atop kinetic textures.
