FUNIMATION

Originally brought on as a designer, I wore a number of hats during my long tenure at Funimation. Ultimately as Creative Director I lead a number of brand level creative projects and initiatives, many of which were integral to growing the sub-culture of anime outside Japan into a mainstream entertainment medium. Over the years I remained hands on with every project, contributing as editor, motion designer, director, fabricator and beyond. Below is a small selection of some of my favorite brand projects.

25 Years Together

In celebration of Funimation’s 25 year anniversary, a month long social campaign was concepted and executed that elevated and honored the history and intersection of anime’s iconic titles and Funimation.

Style frames I designed to anchor the look and visual elements of each era. This would be used across video and social content. The general theme was referential of a yearbook, capturing the iconic series, moments and general vibe of each decade in the companies history.

Funimation Now

This spot was the hero asset for the global launch campaign for Funimation’s streaming service Funimation Now. It was created on a shoe-string budget by a small team who engineered and fabricated a number of unique sets, miniatures and hand painted elements. It won a number of awards the year it premiered including a Clio.
